Example of a Navel Piercing
Common “triggers” for eyebrow piercings
- Wearing clothes that irritate the piercing (such as high-waisted, tight, hard clothing that sit on top of the piercing while standing and/or sitting.
- Not thoroughly dry wiping as described in the step 3 of the aftercare routine.
How to clean a navel piercing
- Rinse the piercing on either side with water. This is to be saved as the last step before exiting out of the shower. You can also rinse the piercing at a sink.
- Spray sterile saline directly on either side of the piercing.
- After several minutes have passed, dry wipe where the jewelry goes in and comes out. This is the only time we recommend moving the jewelry if you have to in order to wipe. Wipe under each bead on either side of the piercing and the surrounding skin.
*If need be- you can hold the opposite side of the jewelry as you wipe as well as lightly pushing it away from your navel to better wipe the entrance.
**Wipe with only DRY, paper towel or gauze. We do not recommend q-tips or cotton products as this can cause fiber buildup on the jewelry especially with prong styles.
